In February we celebrated Cyber Scotland Week. Cyber Scotland Week draws together events across Scotland designed to make businesses, organisations and individuals more cyber aware and resilient.
As part of the week's activities we hosted an event in partnership with Skills Development Scotland: Career Progression in Cyber. The webinar looked at how individuals can upskill or reskill into a cyber security role.
We discussed the career routes into cyber security, looking at both the Council’s and Skills Development Scotland’s career framework, and how you can start or progress your career in this sector. We heard from speakers from both organisations who covered the transferable skills needed, how to upskill, and how closing the cyber security skills gap can support Scotland’s wider skills plan.
During February we also looked at Cyber skills within the Scotland economy and how upskilling people from a diverse range of backgrounds is crucial to addressing the UK’s cyber security skills gap and could create thousands of highly skilled jobs across Scotland.
