Following the election which closed on the 29th July, we are delighted to announce the two new member elected Trustees who were formally appointed at the Board meeting on the 13th September, and will begin in their roles on the 1st October.
Dai Davis is a practising lawyer and also a qualified Chartered Engineer.
Dai has followed the progress of the Council through the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the Worshipful Company of Information Technology (WCIT), both of whom are founding members of The UK Cyber Security Council. In particular, he has been involved in discussions regarding the Council through his memberships of the IET Technology Committee and the WCIT Security Panel.
Dai brings unique skills to the Board as he has practised not just as an Information Technology lawyer but one who has built up super-specialisms in acting for safety related Information Technology and security related technology clients for over 30 years, he has also worked in standards drafting for 25 years.
Kat Abercrombie is a former medical student and an experienced penetration tester for a Welsh based consultancy company.
Kat has direct experience of cyber security management, digital forensics, security testing, audit and assurance, governance risk and management as well as having worked alongside professionals in incident response, threat intelligence, secure operations, architecture and design and data protection and privacy.
Kat plans to bring new, innovative ideas, providing alternative insights and a moderating voice where needed, to ensure that all ideas are heard and discussed equally and openly.
Kat’s goal is to see true inclusivity and diversity across the cyber security profession.
