Why you should be paying attention to T Levels

There's a 14,000 skills gap in cyber security.

If you're not concerned about that, you should be. The cyber security field is booming, but there aren't enough people to fill the positions. Why? Because it's hard to understand and feels difficult to get into.

That's why we're so excited about the Cyber Security T Level launching in September 2023. This T Level course will be an accessible entry point for young people who want to make a career out of this exciting field.

Cyber security is a great career choice for young people as it combines problem solving and creativity with technology, and if you have an interest in these areas, you could have a bright future in this area.

The UK faces a 14,000 skills gap in cyber security, and we're working hard to fix it.

What is being done?

The Department for Education (DfE) has announced that they will launch a new T Level in cyber security. The course will be available to all students who are currently at school or college, and runs from September 2023.

The T Level is designed to give young people an introduction to the world of cyber security and help them understand what jobs are available in this area. It will also provide them with some hands-on experience using common cyber security tools.

Cyber security is a great career choice for young people because it offers many different opportunities for advancement within the field—even if you don't have any prior experience.

A report by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) revealed the significant number of unfilled jobs within cyber each year in the UK, and that number is expected to rise.

The bad news is that those numbers are only going to get worse if we don't make cyber security more accessible and easier to understand for young people. The good news? That's exactly what we're doing.

T Level Events

In order to educate academics, employers, young people, and the wider audience about the benefits of T Levels to the sector, we are working in partnership with the Department for Education to host 3 T Level events across England, kicking off with London on 17th May. This event will be followed by Birmingham on 5th July and Manchester on 20th September.
