Cyber Security Operations Centre (CySOC) Manager at BT, based in Manchester, with over 10 years of experience in the cybersecurity field. My career has focused on a broad range of incident response and management roles, where I’ve led teams in detecting, analysing, and mitigating cyber threats across both internal networks and commercial customer environments.
With 30 years of experience, Sean McCormack is a recognised leader in cyber security, IT operations, and programme/project delivery. His varied international background spanning Europe, Asia Pacific, and North America makes him culturally aware with the ability to work cross-functionally at the highest levels. Sean is a strong advocate of being pragmatic and using processes to help move operational activities forward, believing the desired outcome should drive the level of procedural effort. He also believes that change within organisations should be considered an ongoing state of affairs.
At The Cyber Scheme Sean is a Board member and is accountable for all things operational; process development, ‘business as usual’ activity, compliance, contract management, supplier management, programme and project management.
Sean also has a leading role when liaising with The UK Cyber Security Council and has been pivotal in setting up the Cyber Scheme as a Licenced Body of the Council.
