The UK Cyber Security Council operates in collaboration with its supporting committees aligned to its strategic pillars. We welcome engagement from our members who may express an interest to join one of the council committees, working group or panels.

The Ethics Committee exists to update and refresh the Council’s Code of Ethics, ensuring it is fit for purpose and sets clear guidance on the ethical standards required of any individual or organisation as well as the consequences of any breach of this Code. Within the Committee there will be an Ethics Panel who will convene to investigate any alleged or disclosed breaches of the Council’s code of ethics by member organisations or registrants on the Council’s Professional Register.

Technical Advisory Panel (TAPs) members wanted.
The UK Cyber Security Council professional titles are awarded by specialism, with the exception of the Associate title (ACSP) which is a non-specialism specific title. The UK Cyber Security Council has set up Technical Advisory Panels (TAPs) for each specialism.
The TAPs are independent, voluntary, expert advisory panels that report to the UK CSC Programme Board. TAP members are made up of subject matter experts within the cyber security profession across specific specialisms. They are a collection of skilled and experienced individuals whom the Council will assemble as topic-based task and finish groups.
The TAPs are the guardians of quality. They support the UK Cyber Security Council in developing, embedding and ensuring quality within professional registration and related activities across specialisms in cyber security.
The Panel will need to undertake a variety of tasks and are expected to uphold the Standards of the industry for Professional Registration titles based on the respective specialism.

If you are an industry or academic expert within any of these specialisms can give up to 5 hours a month, remotely, and provide your expert opinion to the Council. Please send a copy of your CV and covering letter* to volunteering@ukcybersecuritycouncil.org.uk by 31st August.
Please note, the selection process will involve an interview with senior Council and NCSC representatives.
*Your cover letter needs to set out how you meet the UKCSC standard competencies in particular the relevant contextualisation criteria of the specialism you are applying against.

About Technical Advisory Panel
The TAP is a representative group of cyber security professionals, across a range of specialisms, from industry to academia. It supports the C-suite & Board of Trustees by ensuring the Council’s strategy includes insight into the current and potential future issues faced by the cyber security profession in the UK and globally.
The panel works on an ad hoc basis and a term is up to 3 years.
The Council are interested in hearing from cyber security professionals with subject matter expertise in specialist areas.
Recruitment for Panels will take place via our website and the member newsletters, however, you can complete the Expression of Interest form, to ensure you are contacted when recruitment is taking place.

Purpose of the Specialism Working Groups
The UK Cyber Security Council is seeking subject matter experts to join Specialism Working Groups (SWGs). These are fixed-term, expert-led groups focused on reviewing and improving the guidance for professional registration in key cyber security specialisms.
SWGs ensure that specialism-specific guidance remains clear, accurate, and aligned with current industry standards. Their work supports the Council’s Technical Advisory Panels (TAPs), which maintain the quality and credibility of the UK’s professional titles in cyber security.
