TECHNICAL ADVISORY PANEL (TAP)

Technical Advisory Panel (TAPs) members wanted.

The UK Cyber Security Council professional titles are awarded by specialism, with the exception of the Associate title (ACSP) which is a non-specialism specific title. The UK Cyber Security Council has set up Technical Advisory Panels (TAPs) for each specialism.

The TAPs are independent, voluntary, expert advisory panels that report to the UK CSC Programme Board. TAP members are made up of subject matter experts within the cyber security profession across specific specialisms. They are a collection of skilled and experienced individuals whom the Council will assemble as topic-based task and finish groups.

The TAPs are the guardians of quality. They support the UK Cyber Security Council in developing, embedding and ensuring quality within professional registration and related activities across specialisms in cyber security.

The Panel will need to undertake a variety of tasks and are expected to uphold the Standards of the industry for Professional Registration titles based on the respective specialism.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Endorsing professional Standards
  • Endorsing assessment processes
  • Undertaking Audit and Moderation of assessment processes
  • Ratification of initial assessors for the Professional Registration titles, utilising the agreed assessor qualification criteria and person specification.

  • Secure Systems Development
  • Secure System Architecture and Design
  • Cyber Security Governance and Risk Management
  • Cyber Security Audit and Assurance

  • Secure Operations
  • Security Testing
