Keith Cottenden

Keith Cottenden ChCSP CISSP is a Chartered Cyber Security Professional with over 20 years’ experience in incident response, digital forensics, consultancy and assurance. After a 22-year career with the Royal Air Force Police, specialising in counter-intelligence and IT security investigations, Keith has led incident response, cyber exercising and security assurance services. He is an NCSC Cyber Advisor and assessor for NCSC-assured Incident Response and Exercising services. Keith founded Vale Cyber Security, providing independent consultancy, assessment and assurance across Cyber Essentials, Defence Cyber Certification, incident response planning, forensic readiness, cyber exercising and organisational resilience. He chairs the UK Cyber Security Council’s Incident Response Technical Advisory Panel, contributes to its Cyber Security Management panel and supports Chartered professional assessments. Keith is also a Visiting Fellow in a School of Law and Policing.
